The 512 SSD (flash storage) is a smart move for OS, apps like Logic, and storage of frequently-used files. The user needs to future-proof their Mac at time of purchase. That's no longer the case with new Macs except the high-end iMac which allows the user to add RAM. In the old days, it was easy for the user to add RAM, and add or replace hard drives. My 2010 i5 2.4 GHz dual-core i5 with 8GB of RAM can handle 4 to 5 times that amount of audio tracks, with Logic plugins.
